Hancock Village Historic District - Located on Main Street, Hancock


Several of this picturesque historic district’s 19th-century public buildings are now being upgraded for energy efficiency while maintaining their architectural heritage.

    The Hancock Village Historic District is a local historic district as well as a National Register-listed district. The National Register nomination can be read online at http://nrhp.focus.nps.gov/natreghome.do;jsessionid=8D82559A4693BCBB512CBD85A21239A0.

    The well-known New England author Samuel Chamberlain chose Hancock to represent New Hampshire in his 1948 book, Six New England Villages.
